IT Systems / Applications Administrator

Basildon, Essex

£26,000 - £32,000

My client is a global organisation which provides leading engineering services and solutions to the petroleum market. They are currently looking to appoint an IT Systems / Applications Administrator on a permanent full time contract based in their Basildon office. This position offers a competitive starting salary of £26,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.

As Information Technology Systems / Applications Administrator you will provide; a primary implementation and support role for FMS EMEA business, a back up for the main Applications Administrator and Systems Administrator, assistance to the IT Manager with SOX auditing and required additional resources for ongoing business critical projects and second and third line desktop support.

My client is looking for someone with the following background / skills:

• Excellent technical skills, teamwork, oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of terminal servers and in depth knowledge of modems and associated technologies
• Experience of server and application software and hardware
• Experience of working with remote connectivity, including RAS and Cisco VPN
• Thorough knowledge of TCP / IP
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• In depth knowledge of MS Windows Server 2000 / 3, Windows NT and XP operating systems

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Investigating and implementing new application builds and any necessary hardware required to support and enhance the business application systems
• Daily monitoring of the applications and application interfaces, documentation of the results
• Working to ensure the implementation and availability of FMS Terminal Servers and modems, server systems and business applications in the Basildon office and remote offices
• Working with other System and Application Administrators to form a fault tolerant support process
