Shipping Manager
Basildon, Essex
£25,000 - £28,000
A large manufacturing company based in Basildon is currently looking to appoint a Shipping Manager. This position will be based in the company’s Basildon office and offers a competitive package which includes starting salary of £25,000 - £28,000 plus pension and life insurance.
The successful candidate will report to the company’s Demand and Logistics Manager and will be responsible for managing the company’s shipping function across all sites for domestic despatch, export of goods, import of goods / materials and ensuring that all products and goods are despatched and received properly. You will also be responsible for two members of staff so will need to have some previous man management experience.
My client is looking for someone with previous experience of working in a manufacturing company within a shipping capacity who is ideally holds a BIFA, CILT diploma or the equivalent. You will need to be familiar with shipping goods which fall within the UK Government ‘export control of goods’ legislation and with deliveries to management of defence depots / facilities. You will also need experience of using and working end user relief, inward processing relief, freight insurance and shipping terms.
