| Purchasing and Procurement Manager Basildon £35,000 - £45,000 My client, a large engineering company located in Basildon, Essex, is currently recruiting for a new Purchasing and Procurement Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is an exciting time to join the company as they are going through a lot of changes and growth following the appointment of a new Managing Director. As Purchasing Manager, you will have responsibility for overseeing the buying team as well as managing and rationalising the supplier base to ensure targeted cost reductions are achieved whilst ensuring that material is delivered using J.I.T principles. Key responsibilities for this role include: • Strategically managing the Buying team in line with service goals • Create list of opportunities to deliver actual measured cost savings • Develop close working relationships with the factor team leaders in order to supply materials efficiently to point of use • Set individual cost savings and performance goals via monthly one to one meetings with staff • Prepare performance reports on operational issues as required • Ensure that all vendors are on the approved supplier list and that effective supply agreements are in place To be considered for this position you will need to have a management background within purchasing/buying/procurement or as a senior buyer, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Ideally you will be CIPS qualified, or working towards.
