| An Fantastic opportunity for an instrument maker has become avaialble for a well established local comapny . All instrument makers work at a microscope for a large proportion of the day, so good eyesight / eye - hand co-ordination are essential. This type of work is very fine ranging from 20 gauge, to 23 gauge and 25 gauge surgical tips and demands a high level of concentration from the individual at all times. A patient, structured and methodical approach to all tasks is preferred, but not essential as full training will be given, including instruction in how to interpret technical drawings etc. All production is carried out to a deadline, so the ability to work under pressure is an asset. Main duties are to manufacture / assemble and repair Vitreo-retinal microsurgical instruments to a high standard in accordance with comapany internal and external Quality and Statutory Regulatory requirements. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone with experience of silver chasing, jewellery or watch making as they would have the necessary transferrable skills Working Hours: 7.30am - 4.00pm - Mon-Thurs 7.30am - 3.00pm - Friday Morning Tea Break:10.00am - 10.30am Lunch: 1.00pm - 1.30pm Starting Salary: £7.50 - £8.00 per hour depending on experience. All candidates undertake a 6 month probationary period |
