HR Consultants’ Assistant Colchester, Essex Competitive Salary + Benefits

Our client is looking for an experienced Human Resources Consultants’ Assistant to join their friendly team, based in Colchester, Essex.

HR Consultants’ Assistant - Role

To provide accurate and efficient administration support to the team of Human Resources Consultants, in order to ensure that client deadlines are met, along with specific task deadlines, as determined by the Consultants.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Provide support to the HR team ensuring that legislative changes identified by the team are made to the relevant client templates (e.g. handbooks and contracts), from the drafts and information supplied

  • Manage all administration and manage associated project processes, systems, policies and contractual documentation

  • Ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard using word processing, spreadsheet and presentation skills

  • Undertake a variety of tasks including preparation of reports, letters, mail merges, etc

  • Preparing, implementing and maintaining manual and computer records and systems

  • Assist in all other areas of administration support as required, eg Health and Safety

  • Liaise directly with clients in relation to deadlines and queries, taking full responsibility for any movement on agreed dates and changes

  • Responsible for the day to day supervision of the receptionist/administrator

Note: This is not an exhaustive list and you will be expected to be flexible in your approach to carrying out your duties, which may change from time to time

HR Consultants’ Assistant - Person Specification:

  • Experience in administration support for an existing HR department or Employment Law firm

  • Graduate/ Personnel qualification would be an advantage

  • Strong typing and audio skills – 60wpm minimum

  • Very experienced IT: Word, Excel, Email and Access at advanced level

  • PowerPoint skills at intermediate level

  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time

  • Flexible and adaptable to meet demands of consultants, cover reception

  • Ability to work alone, using initiative

  • Team working

  • Proactively anticipates what is needed in advance and gets things ready

  • Willingness to learn

  • Strong sense of commitment to exceptional client service

  • Presentable showing a professional image

  • Experience of Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage

  • Food Hygiene Certificate

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including:

  • Interaction with clients

  • Liaising with consultants

  • Used to dealing with people at a senior level
