    Our client is looking for a Project Manager to manage and deliver design and development projects in the clinical diagnostics arena.


    Specific responsibilities
    You will take a lead role in planning, proposal generation, liaison with clients and project management of teams of up to 20 people delivering multidisciplinary projects and products. You will also use your strong technical skills to make a significant technical contribution to development projects, often working on more than one concurrently.
    To achieve this, you will be expected to:
    * Lead meetings with clients, give presentations and communicate ideas and concepts to all disciplines
    * Lead project teams, motivating and enabling them to succeed in delivering quality outcomes to time and to budget
    * Take the lead in ensuring that projects are run to relevant quality standards.
    * Support the activities of Business Leaders in sales meetings, writing sales presentations, project proposals and planning projects.
    * Take a role in developing new areas of technical expertise in the company through the recruitment, training and mentoring of engineers.


    Background/Experience required:
    * Excellent first degree in engineering, the physical sciences or a related discipline - a second degree or PhD would be an advantage.
    * Good knowledge of the medical device industry.
    * Significant experience of product development, gathering through to implementation, verification and validation.
    * You will have a track record of delivering technically challenging projects.
    * Experience of FDA regulations and ISO 13485 will be an advantage.
    * You will have a proven ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and technicians.
    * You will have hands-on experience of engineering complex, multi-disciplinary systems from requirements gathering through to implementation, including verification and validation.
    * You should be proficient in determining compromises between different engineering disciplines at all stages of development.
